Wizard Of Oz Ruby Slippers Tattoo

know I only different! (Episode I: The swimming pool)

Since my camera everywhere to drag on, especially not in the pool or in the library (Episode II), must remain for now unimaged this entry.

that swimming pools are different here, I noticed several years ago, but you have to fight it, because if you would like to use one regularly. Because

  1. need almost everywhere a bathing cap. This can be arranged quickly.
  2. the opening times are very modest. 9.30 bis 17.00 clock clock is not so unusual.
  3. the water is lukewarm.
  4. the water is not as clean as we would have liked.
  5. is used most of the pool to play and the one to three separate tracks maybe.
  6. is a 50m pool is absolutely not a given. That is, we also do not necessarily different.
  7. , the water depth on average about 1.20 m, even if it is a large outdoor pool with children, 25m and 50m pool. This also explains why it can play the "float pool" so well.
  8. must not overwork his body, so minimum will be refereed by the hour, like every 30 minutes, the entire crew from the water. Not so bad if you do not then just 3 runs swimming.
  9. is not provided that one takes a shower after bathing with soap, so be dirty home. Presumably, one can in such an environment just does not wash well enough, so you better like them apart.
  10. Japan is just too humid and after swimming is all wet! Many Japanese women undergo too into the designated Umkleidekabinchen, but the same benefit a sauna, so I usually try, I discreetly move against the lockers, as well some other girls do. Just that they have then so chic rock towels, not me.
  11. one is definitely the only European, unless you bring a friend.
  12. make the pools usually after 31 August to operate one.

then remain only the indoor pools. Among them there are some who would seem much better suited for swimming. But no matter how good or bad so an indoor swimming pool is, it always costs 500 yen entrance fee. The outdoor pools usually cost only around 200 yen.

from my current residence addition, all bathrooms are far away. In my host family and also at Tetsuya were the pools located on the other hand good and as far as I've tested it a little more user friendly. I got noticed only now.

Ronaldinho And Travestis

Ikebana please!

After I met yesterday the same early in the morning with a friend to learning, we walked a bit and have finally eaten in a large department store for lunch. Japanese department stores are very convenient in this regard, since many Käufhäuser have the top two or three floors fully provided for restaurants, so that a large Selection is that you can also record and report in passing because many dishes are plastic replica in the display cases. After the meal we are only by chance another floor went deeper, in which I then discovered an Ikebana exhibition.

I had a few years ago schonmal seen such an exhibition, it had me very impressed. Therefore, I rushed even now gladly leave it. This time, however, should be 800 yen entrance fee, so we bent a little - I have more, my company less - turned around again. But the ladies who had canceled the card, apparently so pleased that young, foreign People (I think the "young" plays an equal role) as the charging the exhibition that one of the ladies are called back to us from their quota of free tickets, which they had apparently received as co large quickly gave two tickets. The exhibition was very nice. The girlfriend was rather less enthusiastic, but had since we met our learning together already, we could then say goodbye for a Japanese fast tour of one another and I'm on a second tour as a bekloppter Volltouri properly taken many photos.

The lower bush on the left is the work of the nice lady that gave us the tickets has given.

hard to believe ... My

Today I moved into my new home. For a large town house, the building is also huge and also very beautiful. Although it is a lot of concrete, but the interior is dominated by wood and tatami. The house has quite a lot of charm and potential. It is hard to describe, but really is it worth not to do with it. For the incomprehensible reality of this house will catch up soon. The house belongs to his grandfather, who also built the site but his brother. A beautiful, but old house on a large property near the center and with newly installed public transport can only bring strife, if not both have the same owner. This was the verdict of a court "resolved," that after the death of the grandfather (75) whose house must be demolished, so that the brother finally to its law is. Actually, the heirs would like to invest in this house and renovate the kitchen, for example, but that would respond to the situation probably a bad investment. They probably even have to pay for the demolition.

air, your air, no air

The first two weeks I am staying with a friend. Tetsuya graduated 4 years ago in Berlin. There we only met once or twice. When I then spent at the Chuo University my exchange year, we met more frequently, but only the first half year, because then he started to work.

ADDENDUM 27 Aug.: Here are photos of our feast and my river. After my move, I will once again have a river but not nearly as nice, but still better than none.

Tetsuya is very straightforward. His apartment is tiny, but nevertheless he immediately offered me to share the few space. He has even bought a futon. As he at 9 clock out of the house and comes back as the morning goes by 1 clock only from work, we have not much time for us to get on your nerves. But that it does not bother him if someone is always there, if he goes and comes, I am very grateful.

Although we have met not so often, we know us very well and get along great. We can very well maintained, cook together on weekends and go every other day morning jog together! Both of us are not surprised both less than the other, that we can overcome with so little sleep and still running. Today was very pleasant, but sometimes it's at 7 clock already so hot and humid that you feel, the air was too "thick" to pass through the trachea. We know but actually not so sure whether it is more difficult to get shut in the air, through or from the body. As for the sweat, the question is easier to answer, but further details might not be necessary. That one meets a young man who runs a not once, but always relaxed half a step behind tagging along and so perfectly adapted to your own pace, which in my case first, depending on the density of air is very strong changes and second, is never very high anyway, is really unusual.

unusual too - at least for a Japanese young men - is that Tetsuya on the balcony, okra, aubergines and tomatoes grow. My aunt recently discovered plant heart comes here is not too short, and is otherwise pleased by regular photo contributions from home.

The only real consideration which I provide here is that I've cleaned up the kitchen and cleaned, sometimes leaving food left over, do the dishes, wash the laundry, making sure that we each mu ; not miss lltag.

On Sunday I pull around anyway. Let's see then what our morning's hard work.

Learning Café WANTED!

Since A week ago I'm now in Tokyo and the seriousness of student life has started again. The biggest challenge was finding a suitable café for learning. That is, free wireless internet, electricity, proper tables, pleasant atmosphere, cheaper coffee and possibly good and inexpensive food.

I've found some useful sites, but found that, of the promised services not everything is kept. Particularly in the use of sockets are many cafes failed and the atmosphere was not always conducive to learning, so I'm wandering about in spite of these pages quite a while.

Google Maps - a private collection

Free Spot - usually can not really useful learning cafés

Space Hack - sometimes incorrect information

Meanwhile, I am relatively satisfied with two cafes, and have there has already been running for several hours. But it can still be improved.

Blue Square Café : Internet, electricity, two non-proprietary, Macs, large café latte 390 yen, 250 yen a simple cake, but small tables, a few freelance jobs, no useful vegetarian lunch, but otherwise ok cheap lunch combination from 600 yen, the atmosphere, but not perfect

Bread, Espresso & : Internet, electricity , 350 yen Espresso, Café Latte 500 yen +, but extremely tasty and large, filling bread for 300 yen, as early as 8 or 9 clock in the morning and open up to 10 clock inexpensive and satisfying earlier ; hstück, but unfortunately only with ham sandwiches, vegetarian lunch and small dinner with coffee as much bread as you want from 900 yen, good atmosphere, but it seems a bit unusual, there are books with a PC and establish

A particular letdown, the so-called "Wired Café" were. Of these, there are really many, but working there is no pig, because you may not use the sockets, the coffee is expensive, abgegrabbelt the establishment and the atmosphere at all not at all helpful for the work.

Redoing Brick Fireplaces

Soba, bridges, Dams, Onsen and more

For the Kakko-dango We had driven after Ichinoseki.

The next day off ...
... are we there again, this time in order to eat the famous long and thick soba (buckwheat noodles). You had to take a number and wait for quite long, even for a place to sit. But it was worth it. The soba was delicious.

After dinner we went a bit over the place. To a position it has preserved the consequences of the earthquake of 2008. I had then only the aftershocks experienced in July, but even that was already scary and this sight also.

have now resolved the most damage, so this year was in the exchange program will pay visits to the site of Isawa Dam included. If the dam is finished, he will be with 723m length of the longest and the total (volume) of the second largest dam in Japan. We had suggested that we provide them with the water supply for one year the City of Hamburg could. How exactly match our bill, I do not know, but the old and much smaller predecessor dam will be lost in the new reservoir, if the Isawa Dam becomes operational. filled up until the new dam is it will still take about three years, although already used the old dam as basis. The earthquakes have been well recognized, despite the damage suffered as a good and passed the test.

Even after two years of work available again, the access road to the area around Sukawa. Here in the mountains, is available with an amazing natural onsen with outdoor seating overlooking the mountains and orderly sulfur smell, on the other hand this impressive gorge (Oyasu-kyo), lives in the walls of the devil. It roars, steam injected and heated. The plants then take to a very unnatural translucent green and growing like in the jungle. But also climbing the stairs was worth.

What Is A Good Replacement For Phisohex

Kenji no Gakko, Curry Hanabi, National Anthem and good day!

Most attractions near Mizusawa, the city where my family lives, I have now seen. One or other Sehensmerkwürdigkeit met yet.

weekends and holidays are family days for the free exchange of sports days or so-called. For young people this means mostly organized sensory overload. For me, it actually means relaxation. I have indeed much to do for the university, but as I have time during the week have time to work, I roll on the weekend, preferably just a little with my brothers and sisters around on the tatami until we eventually an activity superior for the day.

On the first day off we have "Kenji no Gakko" (Kenji's school) attended. The funny thing is really just the friendly salutation of the famous Japanese author Kenji Miyazawa by their first names. But we are all in Iwate, just like the good old "Kenji." In this sense, the presentation and marketing of these personality impressive from the prefecture of Iwate. addition to the "school", consisting of small huts in which - without too obvious reference to "Kenji" - are animals, stars, flowers, and other pedagogically processed possibly valuable, are it is a fairy tale village, whose charm consists predominantly of great design ideas, also a house with proper information about Kenji Miyazawa, we have omitted but cleverly, and of course more than a souvenir shop, where I Wine -Jelly've found. It's amazing how in Japan can pull from a seemingly dry topic of a completely meaningless trip. But as long as it is not something that makes me really interested, I like this

The next experience was for my Japanese friends with whom I had gone out to eat, rather bizarre. When we after dinner and our traditional fireworks (Hanabi) (fireworks sparklers = consumption) shopped, we found this ...

Those who have no Japanese can and try to interpret the images, I can not calm alas! For indeed it is here to sparklers, which are to smell the burning of the Japanese curry rice. This inscription was, of course means that we first round only once or not at the lighted sparklers, which we of course had formally abolished until the end, come. We agreed that at least some way "different", maybe even smell "spicy". The highlight was then that we lit the sparklers and our heads as possible tightly clustered around it to all eager to take the stinging smoke through the nose, cough and eventually realize that even Japanese products do not always deliver what they promise, or rather yet, after all those products just promise bizarre experiences and this has been fulfilled - with or without curry smell.

On another day off I had hoped to go to Ichinoseki to the famous Kakko-Dango (Dango = soft dumplings made of rice at the battered skewer with various Sauces coated) to eat. These are, first, second, incredibly delicious and can not in the coffee itself but also on the other side of a canyon can be ordered. Do this create the money in the basket and knocking - like my sister here - twice on the wood. Then the basket is pulled up, filled with Dango and green tea and high speed is sent down. That the basket is equipped with a Japanese and a German flag is because we were turned around only in the café and were able to look into the chamber in which the basket is filled. The men were so well equipped, that they are out looking like a suitable flag could and could not play the national anthems CD, the German anthem, while the basket raced across the ravine. What did the guests were at the other end, I do not know exactly, but on the monitor to watch them some uncertainty . The board is full of pictures and also we have perpetuated We had the chance to pull the basket all at once, but not send down, for that a little exercise is necessary for the tea, which just on the Dango- Box is made, does not fall over in the fast ride. Once we at the Café had eaten, so we went even to the other side of the gorge and were promptly re-infected the flags, waved and eventually the extra portion that says "Good day" settled in Japanese phonetics.
